Last year’s Gary International Black Film Festival (GIBFF) was a huge success! We hosted our 2nd Reel Rundown Fellowship, gave 17 awards to filmmakers and local community culture bearers, and featured over 61 films from local, national and international filmmakers.

• Film Entries - Last year, we hosted a record number of film entries from around the world – including as far away as Martinique, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Brazil, Columbia and Barbados

• Opening Night – Our opening night features a lively red carpet reception, films, music, food and filmmakers. Sponsors and partners have VIP access to all events.

• Audiences – Our research has shown that GIBFF audiences come from 41 different zip codes in the greater Northwest Indiana/Chicago area. 48% of our audience lives outside of Gary, with folks from 5 different states in attendance. 17% of those surveyed were from the greater Chicago area.

• Filmmakers – With support from you, we can host more filmmakers, who come to share their handcrafted films and intimate conversation with audiences. Past filmmakers include Robert Townsend, Ron Simons, Ava DuVernay, and many more

• Awards – We honor the work by giving out awards based on audience and judges votes, and we take time to honor the change makers who make Gary more liveable.

Sponsors of $25k or more are offered the opportunity to speak and present one of our coveted awards.
Sponsorship at the $5,000 level and above are included as part of our year round programming features.
